Have you read My Blog Utopia by Randy Smythe? Can you trust this guy?...

A popular blog which documents one seller's use of FBA is Randy Smythe's Blog Utopia.

However, we've noticed that many sellers comment on his blog about the many problems they've had with FBA...and a few days later, these complaints disappear!

What is this guy all about? Why is he pushing this (obviously flawed) service, and deleting complaints about FBA?

Perhaps it's to sell his downloads & products, such as "Selling on the River"? Every page you click, he's trying to sell a high commission product (or a download for which he received 100% commission).

We don't know what this guy's deal is...but it seems that being "fair and objective" isn't his primary concern. Maybe we should take his advice with a grain of salt.

"Maybe we should take his advice with a grain of salt."

Classic. DUDE, this Randy guy is writing stuff on the internet. EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. I don't even remember what that means but I know it's still good advice (albeit, free advice).

Ok, that was a bit harsh but it's tough love. Let me be positive too...

Keep up the posting because they're informative and entertaining. Would be nice if you mention a few unsucky things too but it's your blog so do your thing.

Interesting take on my blog. I love the Internet you can accuse somebody of something with no need to back it up.

I do not monitor any comments and I've never removed any comments other than Spam comments.

You have an axe to grind with Amazon FBA, I do not. I use the service and it works for me so I write about it. It is as simple as that.

You don't like the service so you write about it. This is the beauty of the Internet.

But taking shots at my credibility is just plain silly. The Selling on the River book was written by Steve Lindhorst and I promote it for him.

My business runs 100% on FBA with few if any problems. Am I supposed to make stuff up becasue you have a different experience.

email me at rksmythe at yahoo if you have something to discuss with me.

Yes I have read his blog and have no doubt about his honesty or his credibility.

It helps your credibility to check that your facts are true before posting.

Randy Smythe did NOT write Selling on the River. So what if he is making referral income or commission on sales linked to his blog. In what way is that different from your AdSense income from Google on your blog?

Hmmm... I didnt see where the blogger ever said the book was "written" by Randy.

Interesting spar, though.

If I may submit a notion that may possibly reconcile these two different experiences.

If you look at the FBA discussion board on Amazon (where anybody can plainly see that the complaints are genuine and numerous), it seems that some of the warehouses run fairly efficiently, while others are generating the majority of the mistakes.

Is it a possibility that these two people have different experiences because they are with two different warehouses???

PS - I believe "take it with a grain of salt" is like the proverbial spoonful of honey. It makes something easier to swallow.
